Customer loyalty via app
Among the best performers, the EnBW subsidiary Yello shines with its convincing customer app kWhapp. The Vattenfall offshoot ENPURE with an intuitive contract conclusion route and functions such as camera-based meter reading is also right at the top. Both Yello and Vattenfall rely on the pixometer counter scan function developed by pixolus in their apps – the pixolus team is proud to support the two top placed with pixometer for playful handling and user-friendliness.

Energy customers become more demanding
Traditional British utilities succeed better than German providers in trumping new competitors in all disciplines. The management consultants conclude: “Those who offer modern, digitally-supported customer interaction increase their chances”. Oliver Wyman sees a great need for action at many municipal utilities; once their business was secure because the customer relationship was not questioned, now more agile providers are pushing into the market.

The willingness of customers to switch is increasing noticeably. In the age of Apps, Alexa & Co., the more informed customer is now expecting more contemporary standards of service. Digital attackers are more likely to react to the demanded flexibility. Tech giants such as Google and Amazon are also discovering potential for themselves. The same applies to non-sector companies such as Deutsche Bahn with its own power supply offer.

Where perfected processes are indicated due to automation, there still remains a need for individual digitization. Not every production can be completely changed from one day to the next. At HANNOVER MESSE it became obvious that there is still a need for tailored digitization in many areas and levels – like startups may provide. Thus, existing processes can be optimized efficiently, instead of replacing already established procedures in a costly and time consuming way. Participating at HANNOVER MESSE was successful for pixolus: In some cases, visitors came to the pixolus stand after a keyword search in the exhibitor directory. In some other cases, there were also interesting contacts by chance – e.g. because visitors became attentive of pixolus through placed exhibits at the stand such as a manometer or an old gas meter. It is quite likely that some of those fair contacts will lead into digitization projects, where pixolus will be supporting user at their data processes by means of mobile image recognition and/or app solutions.

After Hanover is before Hanover: This June, we will be exhibiting for the fifth time at CEBIT. In the future CEBIT will be taking place in the summer time with a substantial realignment. Again our stand can be found in the innovation area „scale11“ in hall 27. For pixolus, the CEBIT is still providing the ideal frame and the suitable audience for presenting our expertise as well as current project examples. At the must-go for the energy industry we will be moving our permanent representative to the INNOVATION area – still in hall 7 with stand number 657.

HANNOVER MESSE (23. to 27. April 2018)
Again we will be exhibiting at this year’s HANNOVER MESSE: We are looking forward to inspiring talks on the use of image recognition in the industry in the »Young Tech Enterprises« area in hall 17.

CEBIT (11. to 15. June 2018)
As experts for digitization CEBIT remains a must for us – and we are curious about its new concept. Wir will be sticking to the »Scale11« area in hall 11. Our stand number will be announced as soon as we get it on hand.

pixolus @ CeBIT 2017: Stefan, Guilherme & Markus.

All the time I communicated in English and French and, despite being fluent in these languages, these are not my mother tongue, which made communication more challenging. In addition, I needed to have the flexibility to deal with interjections, answer technical questions about our products and our business model. All this meant a great opportunity to develop my communication skills.

I had the opportunity to talk to people from different countries: Arabs, Chinese, French, Canadians, Brazilians, Japanese, etc. This allowed me to have an infinite wealth of perspectives on our company and to be sure that our technology is not limited to Germany. Our solutions are definitely able to solve existing problems around the world. Therefore, I feel honoured to be part of a company so relevant to the development of digital technology worldwide. Surely, attending CeBIT was an incredible experience. (GFu/OKa)

Besonders spannend: Mit DGMK und anyline hatten zwei weitere Anbieter von Zählerstandserfassung per Smartphone-Kamera einen Messestand auf der E-World – Messebesucher konnten also die verschiedenen Lösungen vergleichen und Erkennungsqualitäten beurteilen. Wir denken, daran zeigt sich, dass gerade ein Markt zur Zählerstands- erkennung per App entsteht.

Bei uns konnten Messebesucher mit ausgelegten Smartphones und Tablets (iOS, Android und Windows Desktop) unsere Zählerstands-App pixometer ausprobieren. Und es gab unser Messevideo zu sehen – zentrale Botschaft: „Sparen Sie mit pixometer Zeit, Geld und Nerven.“

Wir hatten mit ESN noch einen Mitaussteller am Stand und haben die gemeinsame Lösung zur Zählerstandserfassung im Workforce-Management-Tool GE FFA gezeigt. Auch die konnte man selbstverständlich direkt am Stand ausprobieren.

Mit einigen Presseberichten im Umfeld der E-world und einem Kurzvortrag von Mark auf dem TR Innovationskongress der Technology Review (Heise) konnten wir viele Messebesucher auf pixometer aufmerksam machen. Ein wenig schade fanden wir es, dass wir selbst kaum die Zeit zum Besuch anderer Messestände fanden.

Als Kölner fanden wir die Terminsetzung der E-world mit Weiberfastnacht als letztem Messetag natürlich nicht sonderlich glücklich – aber erstens hat sich der Aufwand für uns gelohnt und zweitens hatten wir danach noch ausreichend Gelegenheit zum Karnevalfeiern in Köln.

Übrigens: „Nach der Messe ist vor der Messe“ – pixolus ist auch Aussteller auf der CeBIT im März in Hannover und im Mai auf der ZMP in Leipzig. Und 2016 kommen wir bestimmt wieder als Aussteller zu E-world nach Essen (dann ist Karneval übrigens schon vorbei). (sk)

Zu unseren Zielgruppen gehören insbesondere Stadtwerke und Versorger, die eine App zur Kundenselbstablesung haben bzw. planen. Die Zählerstände werden per Smartphonekamera automatisch erkannt und digitalisiert und können dann an den Betreiber übermittelt werden. Dies erspart Kunden lästiges Eintippen und Tippfehler – und ist eine pfiffige Lösung, die Ihre Kunden beeindrucken wird. Der Versorger erspart sich mit unserer Technologie fehlerbedingte Prozesskosten. Zudem können Zweifelsfälle anhand übermittelter Fotos leicht überprüft werden. Unsere Software kann selbstverständlich auch in die MDE-Geräte professioneller Ableser von Stadtwerken und Messdienstleistern integriert werden.
